HE Science Foundation officially launched with a personal contribution of 3 billion Chinese yuan (RMB)
<p>On May 21, 2023, the opening ceremony and main forum of the Greater Bay Area Science Forum were held in Nansha, Guangzhou, with the attendance of several political figures, top scientists from around the world, domestic and international academicians, as well as representatives from academic institutions, international organizations, and entrepreneurs. During the opening ceremony, the "HE Science Foundation" was officially launched in the name of Mr. He Xiangjian, the founder of Midea Group.</p>
<p>"Establishing a science foundation is to help more scientists focus on research and to encourage young people to participate in national scientific and technological progress and innovation," Mr. He Xiangjian expressed his expectations for the science foundation through a video message. He said, "National strength and economic prosperity cannot be separated from scientific and technological development." The science foundation was established with a personal contribution of 3 billion Chinese yuan (RMB) by Mr. He Xiangjian, which he considers as his "responsibility" and "duty". Besides hoping to help researchers, he also hopes to influence more people and the community to support scientific research through this initiative.</p>
